what is going on with Pakistani cricket?

i was following the michael steele conversation on Ebonics over at ta-nehisi coates' page, and ran across a (surprisingly sympathetic link) at the American Conservative [i know, weird, right?]. The author of the post signed off with a rather confusing phrase kya bakwas, which led to a Pakistani cricket site.
